Jaxville was established in 2004 as an actual bullion exchange open to the public. The shop was opened with the goal of placing as much specie (gold and silver bars and coins) as possible into the stronger hands of the community. This is being accomplished by being a local market maker for gold maple leaf coins specifically and a wide range of other gold and silver bullion products pending availability. Jaxville also recycles scrap gold, usually in the form of jewellery, through in house refining and processing. Jewellery items that are in better condition are offered for resale for spot gold value plus GST. This presents an excellent value for astute buyers and allows us to pay 75% of actual gold value on jewellery items. Recycled gold is offered to local goldsmiths and fabricators at spot prices.
Jaxville emphasizes the private acquisition of gold. To that end we strive to keep Royal Canadian Mint gold maple leaf coins in stock and offer spot gold prices to those inclined to sell. We also offer various other recognized gold bullion products as they become available such as one ounce wafers or foreign bullion coins.
In tangent with gold bullion products, we offer silver bullion. Product line may vary, however; we typically have RCM silver maple leaf coins as well as recognized bullion bars in stock. We usually have 100oz bars by Engelhard, Johnson Matthey or the RCM in stock but do call first for availability. We pay 100% of spot silver prices for the above items.
Jaxville buys and sells gold and silver coins that do not meet the CCRA threshold for tax exempt status. These would include items such as Commonwealth Sovereigns, Krugerrands, US gold eagles as well as older circulated gold and silver coins and commemorative strikes. Unrecognized gold and silver bullion products, sterling silver objects or unusual items made with precious metals are also offered as we receive them.
At Jaxville Gold & Silver Trading Ltd., we buy all karat gold jewellery for 75% of its actual gold value. We refine most jewellery into its constituent pure gold which we offer to goldsmiths and other end users. Gold jewellery that is in better condition is offered to the public for sale at 100% of its gold value plus GST for a limited time. If it does not sell it is melted and processed. Having the means to refine gold allows us to perform assays as well as buy placer and other forms of gold.
